Turn 1
Turn 2
Turn 3

After his chance meeting in Khartoum with Sir Conrad Black (and his yappy
little mutt), Lord Teach bids his fellow adventurer farewell, and sets off
up the opposite fork of the Nile, intent of finding its source.

Lord Teach, being a bastard descendent of the original Edward Teach, the
pirate Blackbeard, leaves in Reckless fashion, showing his family's true
adventure spirit.

Early August 1838 (Turn 2)

Hot! Always hot! We've spent several days crossing the vast
desert south of Khartoum. Hunting has been atrocious. Lizards and the
occasional wild dog. I hope hunting is better soon. We're going through
provisions much to quickly.

I had hope to find some native plants and study them for their medicinal use
but this stretch of desert has been sparse, even by desert standards. The
few weeds and rushes growing near the river are typical of what's found near
Khartoum. We must reach the jungle if I hope to find previously
undiscovered plants. Or better still, finding my old mate, Dr. Livingston!
The lad has been gone so long most have written him off as lost. If he is
still yet alive, he must have vast knowledge of the jungle and its
resources. The lads at the Medical Society of London would perk up then.

Closing now. We're preparing (finally!) to leave the desert and enter a
swamp to the east. I have no expectations for this swamp but we must go
where the river flows. Hopefully soon we'll enter new, unexplored
territory.

Late August 1838 (Turn 3)

From the frying pan to the steamer! The humidity takes one's
breath and drains the energy. We've entered the great swamp known as The
Sudd. Hunting has been wonderful and everyone has eaten his fill. But I'm
worried that if we don't get out of this swamp soon some of our dried
rations will begin to mold.

This area has been pretty extensively explored and I have found nothing new
to make note of. We'll soon be venturing into unexplored territory.
Hopefully our guide knows what he's doing. I've told the Askari to be
vigilant. Most of these tribes have been known to be very aggressive. I
hope to win them over with gifts and great show of our modern technology.
Matches should prove to be a big hit.
