awbw speed league frozen

i havent played a game in a month or so in the speed league and i think it has something to do with the other bug i posted about the leauge games being in waiting (public) anyway i've only played one speed league game against ice shade and i dont even recognize the second one

You need to "hack" a link to drop out of this game and SO DOES YOUR OPPONENT. Either do this or "hack" a resigning link (I also had to once, the game really counts as lost even if not started yet).

Copy the URL of such a link from any game you want. Replace the game ID by the one of the errored game. Paste it in your browser and there you go.

Oh sry I noticed that you need to find out some player ID for the game... a link goes like:

If you could find the game id I could probably help... but like you said it's pretty old.

85606 is on the same day, so search 50 or so games in either direction.

If you think you've found right game, try to visit the press page.

If it loads for you, view the HTML and look for your player number for that game. Then go to http://awbw.amarriner.com/resign.php?players_id=xxxxxx

You'll get a loss but at least you can contionue in the league

If not you'll probably need AM to do something for you.

AWBW keeps trying to start the game, thus why "Started on" is always the current day, but this is a problem because the user called PermaPledge dropped out of the league as the game was originally being made, and AWBW will repeatedly fail to make the game because of this, but won't re-select an opponent until it works. It's similar to the capturing bug that others have posted recently. To fix this, get that newb PermaPledge to join the speed league, that's the only way to fix it, so that AWBW can finally start the game.

Ignore the posts made by others because you can't resign a game that hasn't actually started yet, and it won't have a game ID nor any player ID's until it does.

All the league games with Octopod have bugged like this, which is why it was removed from the leagues.

Resigning should still work, if you can just find your player id for that game.

i havent tried rasts theory yet but i will soon and post results here. To nyv: the game name is jansumarine vs me and permapledge is there, could there be a block in the script that may cause the game to not start because the names do not match.

The danger is if you have any other games started around that time, you'd get resigned from them also. Plus, it might not work -- if the game hasn't yet been created at all, then you're probably really screwed until AM can do something.

Copy it into notepad (don't worry the line numbers won't come through). Change the third line so it has your password instead of "abc123". The quote marks need to stay. Save the whole thing as massresign.html . Make sure notepad doesn't actually save it as massresign.html.txt .

Open the page in IE. (Firefox won't work, for two reasons which I won't bother to explain.) IE will say that it blocked the page for your security. Click on the yellow bar and choose "Allow Blocked Content", and click "yes" to the warning. (I tested this in IE 6, yours might have different warnings).

You should have an alertbox that say "250000". Click OK. Wait for the numbers to stop moving. Click the alertbox again. Repeat (30 times). Seriously, please wait for the numbers to stop each time before you click OK. I really mean it, please wait.

If the game exists, is in the proper range, and can be resigned by you, you should be resigned from it. Wait 72 hours and see if you get a new league game. If not, sorry, I can't think of anything else to do besides emailing AM.
