Postby WorldDominator75 » Fri May 04, 2012 5:12 pm

Still haven't even bought a 3DS, though I've considered it. If people ask them for it and they think they can make money off of it, I wouldn't be surprised to see it in the future.

Considering advance wars hasnt sold too well and nintendo seams to be having trouble getting games on that thing I dont think a new AW is coming out for a long time.

Advance Wars got a lot of sequels for not having sold too well.
If you know the enemy and know yourself you need not fear the results of a hundred battles.

Japan never got DoR, so that kinda sucks.

I haven't bought a 3DS because I'm pretty sure there are still about -7 titles available for it. I will be upset if they release an AW for 3DS because then I'll be tempted to buy one for one freakin' game. I vowed after PSO for DreamCast, I'd never do that again. >.>

I think DoR kinda killed the momentum of sales. It tore away almost everything hardcore AW players knew and loved. The only improvements were the addition of Anti-tanks and bridges being a pass-through for sea units. Oh, and subs are deployed hidden which is a nice addition.

So since the 3ds is like the first region locked nintendo thingy, I'll wait until they get a good flash cart or hack before I buy it. I got the gold one on my amazon wish list waiting though :D

It would be cool if they made a AW in 3d because not all of the new games are 3d like pokemon black 2. But I hope they go back to the original format of the game, I hated days of ruin.

If they came out with separate games, one for each story line, I would probably get both...

The first region locked nintendo thingy was the NES.

I'd buy a new advance wars. And a 3DS with it. I'll buy a 3DS eventually anyway, it just needs a good game as an excuse for me to buy it.
Advance Wars DS did that with the DS.
I enjoyed Advance Wars Dark Conflict, but it didn't have a lot of replayability. The story was good though.
I even bought the american localisation Days of Ruin because it had different dialogue and alternate names (and was cheap.)

But Dark Conflict/Days of Ruin/Lost light as it would have been called in japanese isn't out yet in Japan (cancelled) and I don't know the reason for that. Probably the same reason why they won't make a next game.

The nes isn't region locked, because the famicon is a different system :3

while the famicom (with an m) isn't region locked, I'm pretty sure the NES is.
In fact I opened a few of them to disconnect the region lock chip to make them region free.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regional_lockout#Nintendo
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_Entertainment_System#Lockout_circuitry

Nintendo invented the region lockout.
And now with the DSi and 3DS they created the first region locked portables.

When you can just unscrew the cart and take out a chip I dunno if it counts, but okay.

Despite being a huge Nintendo fangirl I still manage to use n almost every time.
