Panda Army

So I made some edits as suggested.
Here's the new AW1 buildings, with the old ones below them for comparability:


Changes are: Darker outlines, and darker windows, both per Benbever's suggestion.

So, is they still distinguishable from neutral buildings? I recolored the image from my last post to the new building colors, so let's have a look:

Now here's they same stuff for the edited AW2 buildings. Only change there is darker buildings. I left the windows as is because they're more visible now and otherwise the buildings would be hard to distinguish from neutral property:





Also, it's not great, but I have a first attempt at an HQ:

It's supposed to look like a giant panda statue holding some bamboo. I already got a complaint when I showed it in the chat yesterday that it doesn't look enough like a building, but I'll keep it as the HQ until I think of or get a suggestion for a better HQ.

The plot is a bit unclear.

Wouldn't that be appropriate for an army in Advance Wars?

If they fight back against humand, then why are the penguins their enemy? Penguins don't eat bamboo.

Penguins aren't their enemies, but their rivals (like how Andy and Eagle weren't enemies but rivals in the bonus mission of the AW1 campaign). The penguins and pandas are fighting over who are the cuter critters.

The name.. erm colour+space thingy;
Ivory Bear? (ivory = white-ish plus bear is both panda bear and ursa major.)

Pretty good, but I'd still like some more suggestions before deciding on a name.
Keep in mind that the second part doesn't need to refer to something cosmic, but could also refer to something from nature or elemental thingies (like Red Fire, Grey Sky, Amber Blaze, Cobalt Ice and Purple Lightning).

maybe we could get smack to put this army in game, even replacing JS would be nice, because I remember he tried that once with the storm troopers. what do you think smack?

Jade Sun is awesome as it is and shouldn't be replaced by anything.

Bamboo trees are way too thin to believably build an HQ in, even if it is giant.
Since you've apparantly never seen a bamboo tree, go look here.

That's a stupid idea. Making the buildings a different color from the units will only cause massive confusion.

I tried to make the HQ look more like a panda temple holding a bamboo a bit like a sword (like that strange dragon statue: *click*) but I failed. Still looked like a panda too much and displaying it completely grayscale made the bamboo look weird



PS: Widen the HQ panda one space, leaving its nose one space tinier. It'll look about ten times better since the nose isn't so cramped between the eyes then. And not so HUGE, man. Have you ever seen a panda?
