Okay, so we're looking for new League maps.

The time has come to cycle through the league maps again.

What I want you people to do, is to name up to two (2) maps total that you feel do not deserve to be in a leauge. Make sure to explain why, and please specify which leagues they do not deserve to be in (if in more than one league).

You may also name up to five (5) maps that you feel deserve to be in the leagues. Please bear in mind that none of these maps can be made by you. If you self-plug your own map, I will invalidate your entire list. This is because if given the opportunity, people will plug their own maps, due to personal bias. Explanations here are recommended, but not required.

The rest of the map committee and myself will decide what maps to use based on the suggestions here, and what we like.

The Smoking Eye[/url] (map made by funwes). I feel that the three separated-yet-connected fronts help make the map more open, and 3 airports per side helps encourage an air battle.

Salmon Potato Squid Elephant Panda Traffic Squirrel Cardboard Parrot Battleship Donkey[/url] (map made by Everzwijn). I think it's got a rather original concept behind it--not often do you find maps with 5 bases per side, and it looks like it works out fairly nicely. It may be a little on the big side, but if we stick it in the Speed League, there probably won't be much of a problem in that respect.

Deserted Beach[/url] (map made by nerd-boy). Leagues 2, 3. It seems to get clogged up a lot along the fronts, which probably isn't the best for a league map to do. Besides, it's had a fairly good run.

The Pauper Has An Agenda[/url] (map made by Tyrael). Leagues 4, 6, 7. I think it suffers from the main problem Pheasant had, which was that the map was a rush to the center neutral bases. That doesn't sit very well with me.

Don't cycle too much, I like more league maps better than few league maps. That said, do remove the maps that are not as good as the other ones.

Demon Days, it has had no (test)games, and it might have contested bases (especially sturm thinks so) so it might want a playtest.

Salmon Potato Squid Elephant Panda Traffic Squirrel Cardboard Parrot Battleship Donkey, it has seen only one (test)game, but looks fairly complated. Also it's very big and has 5 bases. If it gets in the leagues, please don't add it to the speed league. That size and 5 bases means a _lot_ of units to move per turn, and I don't want that in my boot=2 game.

I like this map a lot, but Is it really S ranked? In fact what map deserves to be S ranked if any? The four S ranked maps dont look any better than A ranked maps. I think the S rank category is a bit useless, and might be needed to be removed.

Objectiveness kicks ass. It's one of the only maps on the entire site that's a fair, small 1v1 map that requires lots of navy battle.

if a map is reasonably fair and playable and looks ... reasonable ... its ok by me . I have few problems with maps. I believe good generals should strive to cope with all and varied kinds of maps and conditions. I dont mind maps that "might" be drawn ... if its not really obvious how to draw, its fine by me.
So, i would only remove very tired maps, where openings are completely well known , especially where opening knowledge confers a significant advantage. I havent been around leagues long enough to say which maps are tired.
