My point is that contested cities tend to help avoid stalemates. And what metagame is arty walls? Current metagame is way tank heavy. :wink:

Seriously, Copters are great because they lend you a unit advantage over someone who tries to counter them with AAs. Just take a look at this:

Well, I admit that stalemates are more likely in 4-base maps because of the higher number of infantry. I don't think it will be a huge problem on that map though.

Finally, after almost 3 years, I have taken airob's recommendations into consideration, and I have updated this map.

Considering cutting down on forests a little, but I'm not sure yet.

I plan on touching up some older maps soon too.

Looks nice... What's the point of the cruisers? a T-copter can just kamikaze itself to drop an infantry at the HQ...

I know, cheesy name. It's better than naming it the actual name since no one would know what it was supposed to be. >_>;

I'll just post my comment here:
Orange, Brown, and Pink vs. Black vs. Teal and Yellow vs. Green and... Cobalt.

I tried to make it balanced with each team starting with 12 properties and ending up with 16,
with 3 bases, 1 airport, and 1 port for each team.

Exceptions are Yellow/Teal since Yellow is going to have trouble getting off that island
without a port and a base on the mainland, and Black who gets a Lab since they are isolated.
(I recommend Bomber/Neo/MegaTank/Battleship for the lab.

Feel free to rate/comment! I will take suggestions into consideration, especially concerning
balance/etc.

I know that the terrain is kind of plain on the left and heavy on the right... that is intentional,
but if it's imbalanced, I'll change that.

I feel your map is too umbalanced. BH, teal and yellow have way more properties than the rest and will easily pummel them. Second, It´s too small of a map for 7 players, there is not enough space to have an undisrupted capruting phase for each army, and if there were, you need to add a lot of neutral properties for each army to make it even, but it is just too small to be clumping a lot of cities together, i think you should make the map widen, and spare properties evenly across countries, if you feel the urge of making the map assymetric, try to give equal terrain to each army. (rivers, # of plains and forest, mountains, etc.)

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll prolly make a bigger version later...

Firstly, it is a team battle, and each team as a whole has the same amount of properties (with exceptions: BH gets a lab instead of a 12th property and Y/T get a base instead of a city and a tower to offset having to start out on an island and isolated). This may be imbalanced in that BH can just build a rocket whereas the left-side team has to split up the funds... I'll balance the terrain for the northern part though (BH is supposed to be isolated and the southeast team is supposed to semi-represent China/Japan, so...). Also it's 8 players.... >_>

Oh my bad, i read your description as BH was teamed with TG, my apologies for that and the 8 player thing :oops:

Yeah i kind of get what you were going for. But you do realize TG´s practically screwed unless it lets YC get the neutral base? i also feel the central properties are too contested, but easily rushable for BH (BH can spam copters or arties right from the start while still capturing properties, whereas the rest only have one base to build infantry?) how are they supposed to counter BH, if at all possible? maybe if they all team up on BH right from the start. The split-up funds to do represent a big disadvantage, even if the overral number of enemy bases for BH is far superios than its own. Also BH can lock BD´s, OS´s and TG´s bases early on with a rocket.
