Team tournament - Determining Teams

Unless there are objections, I suggest that you guys go and start building teams then. I am going to roughly divide the people into three pools, and you make sure that every team has at least two people from pool 1, and at least one from pool 2 and 3 each. There will be a new topic for this though, as I don't want this to be too cluttered up.

So here we are, four teams in total are going to be made. At least two from pool one means exactly two from pool one at the moment.

Pool One: Hellraider, Kamuscha, Ultra Storm, Dhomochevsky, RockmanX_Zero, Harti, Black Mont_Blanc, Sothis

Pool Two: Evil_Cereal_Killer, airob, walkerboh, xushu, excrimophalus, fdkanns, madcowz, McLuvin

Pool Three: funwes, DuelStriker, Usthepeople, Tequila, headphone, Abroxas, blozzee, Shompiador_kalabaza


Feel free to use this topic for talking to other people if you need to, but remember that the PM function exists for a reason and is very convenient to use. Once a team a ready, I expect the team leader to post here, stating explicitly that he is the team leader, the team name, the players in his team and their ranks inside the team.

a) I do it myself, and I'll do the best to make it as fair as possible.

b) I select 4 people (they don't have to become the team leader), who then take turns in choosing members for their team.

I'm in favor of b because it gives more freedom to choose your team.

The four people choosing people for their teams will be:

A - Ultra Storm

B - Hellraider

C - Kamuscha

D - Sothis

Order has been randomized, and we will draft A, B, C, D, D, C, B, A, A, etc.
Just post whoever is in your team here.

Edit: This also sets the respective ranks of the players inside their own team. Us four will have rank 1, the 4 people chosen first will have rank 2 etc.

Shouldn't it be D C B A A B C D etc? Otherwise my team is going to consist of the two weakest Pool One players. (Namely, myself and whoever is not chosen yet when it's my turn.)

Seems like it's now a recipe for unbalance because the order is not random, it's from strongest (although A and B are more like equal) to weakest (me). You and US are the top two players on the site, but you're choosing first and therefore will get the strongest available Pool One players. Yikes.

Just something to consider.

Except that it is not really easy to agree on who is strongest of the rest?
The current pattern favours player C and D more since the gap between the pool 2 players amongst themselves and the pool 3 players amongst themselves is much bigger than the gap between the remaining pool 1 players amongst themselves. So you get the players you deem to be better from both pool 2 and 3.
