Anyone here read any webcomics?

Postby Everzwijn » Thu May 09, 2013 5:47 pm

So does anyone here read any webcomics?

I'm following quite a few actually. Some are serious. Some are funny. Most are both.

Paranatural is probably the best webcomic ever. It involves a young lad named Max who just moved into Mayview, a town full of crazy people. And he suddenly sees ghosts too. The art is beautiful, the writing is brilliant, the characters are hilarious. There're some hints of a plot in the background, but so far it's mostly shenanigans, with the sarcastic Max trying to cope with the wonderfully insane people he meets and the bizarre supernatural world around him.

Gunnerkrigg Court is a comic I've been following for years. It's about Antimony, a girl who moves into the titular boarding school. Similar to Paranatural, it's about exploring the mysterious world the main character lives in. There're many seperate plot threads, which are all slowly being pieced together. It has a good amount of humour, with many silly robots and creatures walking around, but it's mostly a serious story. Great read if you like fantasy.

Brawl in the Family is just a really cute gag comic involving Nintendo characters, mostly Kirby.

Boxer Hockey is a comic about a bunch of guys playing a ridiculous and violent sport in their underwear. Early on it's mostly random humour and gay jokes, but later it grows into some great character-driven humour. It's become more dramatic later, but never stops being funny. It has some very dark humour at times though, so be warned. Also has perhaps the best Sonic parody ever. Too bad it rarely ever updates.

There are a bunch more I read, but that's enough for now I guess. So, what comics do you guys read?

Obligatory "someone who used to post on this forum writes an awesome webcomic" plug.

Ironborn. It's awesome. And almost done!

I don't really have many to add that aren't known by basically everyone (like xkcd and C&H), but I guess I have a few.

Drawing Board is a pretty good one, though they update even less often than Boxer Hockey (Which has actually had three updates in three weeks, and each on a Friday. Maybe they're on a schedule now...).

Antics is a pretty great one if you like fart jokes.

Doctor Cat. It's about a cat. Who is also a doctor.

I should really start reading Dr. McNinja sometime. I read Mokepon, it's pretty damn good. Xkcd is lame.

Ironborn looks cool. I'll check into that.

Awww, Doctor Cat looks really cute. =3 It's pretty good I guess.

Looking at Drawing Board, it gets really longwinded and wordy sometimes. This guy never heard of subtlety, has he?

Currently getting into Axe Cop and Awkward Zombie.

Awkward Zombie is great, I also like Brawl in the Family, C+H, and XKCD, so I really have nothing to contribute.

I really dug the art style of that one but I could never get into it because man those pages are big, and it's one of those types where you kinda have to know what's going on

Still a pretty cool style though
